2001-2011 – Broadcasting Career (as Carl Carter)
It seems strange to say it out loud, but prior to my work as an entrepreneur and tech founder, I had a successful career as a TV and radio broadcaster. I was commissioned both a writer, producer and presenter for numerous TV and radio stations around the UK. Selected credits and awards are as follows – along with a couple of memories!:
Radio Presentation / Production
- Presenter, Breakfast Show, “Carl & Jo In The Morning” (Fox FM / Capital Radio Network, 2005-2007)
Host of Oxfordshire’s #1 breakfast show to more than 750,000 listeners. A dubious additional perk included my face being on jeeps around the county for two years (see photograph below) - Co-presenter, Seven Entertainment Weekly (Capital FM Network, 2006)
One of the main presenters of the Sunday Night magazine show, with Justin Wilkes and Sam Mann. Weekly audience of 2+ million listeners, syndicated across the UK. - Presenter, Afternoon Show (Cube / Capital Disney, 2003-2005)
- Producer, Breakfast Show (Invicta FM, Kent, 2002-2003)

Commissioned on the main writing team for several series of the long-running hit topical comedy show. - The Armstrong & Miller Show* (BBC1)

Wrote for this Dick-and-Dom inspired comedy show
* – writing with Tony Cooke

Co-writer of the nominated episodes of the three-times BAFTA nominated show - SONY Radio Academy Awards Nominee: Cube Digital Radio (Station of the Year – Digital Terrestrial, 2002)
The SONY radio awards used to be a glitzy who’s who of radio power people, back in the day. I still have the nomination framed on my study wall! - BAFTA Winner: The Armstrong & Miller Show (Best Comedy Show, 2010)
Part of the writing team of the winning episode, and surrounding series. - Winner – Best Entertainment Show: We Should Get Out More (Radio 1 Student Radio Awards, 1999 & 2000)
